with already massive support from jocks like technasia, valetino kanzyani, mauro picotto, james kameran and many more chris liebing is starting a new label called spinclub recordings. the first release is by spinclub resident dj emerson, already known for his releases on kiddaz fm and microfon. on this first ep on scr, dj emerson features his familiar dry techno. to the efficiently and solidly working cut the crap on the a-side, he opposes with the spectacular mr. nice on the b-side. mr nice starts off in a restrained way. in the break you could almost think it would lose itself in an ocean of delay, if, yeah if not suddenly this striking bassline would emerge. it starts rolling, turning the track around 180 degrees, transforming it into a rampaging peaktime monster. for the one who wants to put an exclamation mark in his set, voila

played by sebo k, karotte... layo and bushwacka! are equally at home turning out summery housey affairs as they are peak time stormers, and >now is the time / the time was then definitely fits into the latter category. a double header, the loose concept behind the release is to represent the sound of the dancefloor now versus the sound from a few years ago. >now is the time< has its feet placed firmly in 2008 - a crisp, clean techno bassline, topped by hand claps, snatches of breathy female vocal, and full of an irresistible array rattles, whooshes and other indefinable sounds that the duo seem to pull from the depths of their imaginations. it breaks with some simple electronic sounding chords and a stirring martin luther king sample that makes this record so memorable. >the time was then< is based around that same sample, but gives a cheeky nod to a few years back, with a bassline and keys that wouldnt have sounded out of place on their seminal ‘night works’ album. it never goes too far towards nostalgia, though, and either would rip up a late night dancefloor

elevate, if you remember, is the deep house label from daniel bell that put out a series of influential records in the late 90’s including the first 12 from theo parrish. these releases are still very much in demand and are going for high collectors prices online. it is now the summer of 2008 and elevate is proud to present a new release, this time from baaz. baaz is a new artist with only a few releases so far including tracks on sascha dive’s deep vibes label and a full e.p. on sthlmaudio. baaz may hail from southern germany but you would swear he grew up in the same detroit neighborhood as mike huckaby or moodymann when you hear his warm, gentle and deeply hypnotic house music.

thumping house gear from ferrer and sydenham on this 10inch release on ibadan. behind a booming bassline and a little french kiss synth influence as well, double penetration is perfect for that late night floor action, with a little progressive feel in the sweeping synth lines setting it off just right. both mixes glide effortlessly along - in fact if you get 2 copies and play both sides one after the other, the results would be outstanding!

well what is there to say...? the two original packages of this is not a follow up are being played by everyone under the sun. both the previous gourmet and the brique rouge releases pack a serious punch with remixes from main room heavy weights like mason, silicone soul and tommy four seven. it came to our attention by one mr. clive henry that it would be nice to have some deep remixes released.

after the huge >score for direction< success with label owner pär grindvik stockholm ltd presents a new swedish talent for the world. simon haydo is a really close friend of pär grindvik and the stockholm ltd family. for several years, simon has been playing records among the high end clubs in his hometown of stockholm, sweden. a while ago he finally got himself some studio equipment and has been asking for production tips from time to time, but when we received his demo we realized that he didnt really needed them. simon knocked us right out of our chairs! we rarely get demos this emotional and we didnt know that simon would pass us one as we had not heard a bleep of his music until that day. most of the demos you get are from people trying to sound like someone else, but simon has a sound of his own. we are really proud to have simon haydo joining the label and his first record >different shades of white< will follow us forever! >different shades of white< has got great support all over the world and will be released on stockholm ltd, watch out!

if this were an episode of the game show jeopardy and the following track titles represented an answer, the correct question would undoubtedly be what is a huge hephner ep?. after his highly successful debut (booty drop ep) on siteholder uncut, as well as various remix projects, the funk slut himself returns with his virgin vinyl effort for siteholder records. following what he calls a highly inspirational trip to the strip clubs and whorehouses of las vegas, hephner took his sexual adventures and turned them into an ep that couples ass-shaking funk with in-your-face bass. it seems that his pimpin escapades have finally found an outlet that wont land him in jail, but instead on some of the sickest sound systems our planets nightclubs have to offer

originally from columbus, ohio and now residing in new york city, myungho choi issues four new tracks on a touch of class. on these four dizzying tracks, choi again powers his stampeding funk grooves, ecstatic voices, and somersaulting rhodes melodies with classic soul bass lines. his stoked mix of soul, jazz, and house proves exhilarating in the steaming strutter lovin you today and high velocity disco anthem shakin bricks. less aerodynamic and earthier by comparison, the low slung party funk groove in how long till dawn would sound perfectly at home in a parliament funkadelic set, especially when voices chant shake and havin fun and horns blaze over a steaming stomp. the closer we aint leaving revisits the benson funk style of moment by moment by looping a guitar vocal fragment over a relentless minimal disco pulse. this ep. is without a doubt a true disco house infection and a definite one for the dance floor, which is not to be missed.

hailing from deep down south africa, mujaba is up for his second outing on the überhot four roses recordings imprint. here come two joints that will get stuck in a lot heads for some time. the music indeed sounds like a further development of the original house sounds already being approved by all the good guys you would like to spin at the party of your dreams.

by now dazzle drums and nite grooves are old friends. this being their 5th release on the label, the beat goes on and carries us with it. gypsyman turns out an organic bent out of shape (we didnt say warped!), percussive, almost dubby, instrumental delight. this is one of the definite moods one would hear at say, the shelter. its got that kind of clubby rhythmic organic vibe. call it what you will, we call it hot. tokyo deep that follows is a more upbeat instrumental full of synth moog sounds and overflowing washes. very car chase or early 80s stalk you cinema, catch the drama while you can!

a classic bit of space disco from the french scene of the 70s. four long tracks that are all pretty darn moogy, and pretty darn great! the work here would fit nicely with some of the best keyboard heavy club of the us scene at the time! not exactly like some of the work on p&p, or the grooves of el coco over at avi - but not that dissimilar either, and often put together with a spare, simple approach thats a welcome contrast from overblown disco of the time! most numbers build up from a funky bassline and beats - adding in the keyboards with great relish, and really letting them jam and get crazy over the top. theres certainly a bit of cosmic fusion going on here too

grinding acid house from the scum for the larger soundsystem. if the word hadnt been hijacked by the 2 bob electro house fraternity then filthy would be the adjective in use here.

kris menace has done great remixes for some time now. lcd soundsystem, tracy thorn, air and the list goes on forever. his last release is the winter favorites of 2007 and would definitely kick ass on a big system

a very special compost release with two very rare tracks! the a-side features a great remix of beanfields >tides< with amazing vocals from bajka - of course its not quite up there with the unbelievable carl craig mix but then that would be an uphill struggle. ripperton from the lazy fat people adds his moody, deep slant to the track, less anthemic than carl craig but a more than welcome alternative. this mix was available for a short time as bootleg with ricardo villaloboss remix of depeche modes >sinner in me< on the flip and sold out quickly despite the poor sound quality. finally, one year later, this great tune sees it official release completely remasterd in chrystal clear sound - get it, play it, love it! in 2006 the duo tom wieland and marc frank - better known as 7 samurai - crafted a fine remix of invisible sessions under their panoptikum moniker. when michael reinboth considered this remix for his new future sounds of jazz compilation the guys decided to contribute even a little bit more: an excusive new version which became a definitely highlight of the whole compilation. the panoptikum 2007 remix surprisingly takes a leaf out of innervisions book for a smooth deep houser with a slighty techy sound and a touch of detroit in the vein of Âme or henrik schwarz. in contrast to the vocal version included on fsoj this 12inch features the trippy instrumental version. ace stuff! two must have tracks - all killer, no filler!

dj onionz needing no introduction to house heads, this prolific dj and producer began his career in the early 80s, playing parties in his native queens, nyc before taking his music across the globe. >play dat song< is an electronic jackin house monster with a bass hook that grooves throughout the track. it s latin tribal drums and electronic stabs cause mayhem on the floor and a cool vocal sample raises its head. >pokin u< has the same quality production and bass driven groove with great breakdowns and more of a techy vibe that would rock sets from carter to pete tong, whilst keeping the trademark onionz latin influences... limited backstock

every friday hugg & pepp sits down to have their mid day break after having a sturdy lunch at the partymakers. pepp is usually not late to suggest that something sweet should be consumed during this time in order to get inspiration and joy. hugg, who is also known for his sense of culinary experiences sometimes surprises pepp with exciting creations from all corners of the world. this particular friday, the team has choosen the mormors hosta, a typical swedish bread in wich a special yellow fudge, the hosta, can be found in the middle of this delicious bakery dedicated to our beloved grandmother. pepp, who is specially found of the hosta, also suggested that the two would make a tribute to grandfather so they wrapped the mormorshosta in a farfarskofta into a roll, then split it in half and feasted on this magnificent little piece in a cheerful mood. after this, filled up and satisfied they returned to their mystery machine and started to feed it with this new recepie. at first the machine returned some strange messages but after correcting the proportions between the amount of hosta and bread the machine successfully coughed up a banging bassline.

back in march 07, drag city issued rtxs second ball busting album, under a title that we all really loved and you did too. but the man! the man came down on them, telling drag city that in a court of law the album with that title would be struck down and that they must cease and rethink. thusly armed, drag city went to rtx and told them that a rebirth was at hand. fortunately, they were up for the change - and ratx is the inevitable result! containing the exact same contents as its former self, ratx has the additional benefit of being released in a super limited vinyl edition.

saint martinique, one of the label honchos, delievers with the >contrast ep< his solo debut on the label. the original version with its minimalistic energy and an unforgetable arrangement of melodies seems like a future catchy tune. studio colloborator stereofunk takes the sound of the mid-nineties back to us. his maginificant tech-electro rework would undoubtly play havoc with the clubs.

imagine having six feet! once you crank this one up you would be making some severe moves with all six of m to this amazing 4 track banger from nitram! 6 feet under is the offshoot of abstract records run by kaoz. these labels produce a constant flow of the best hard techno material around, and involve artists like robert natus, marco remus and arkus p. nitram supplies us with nothing less! fuckstone is a monsterr!
